Privacy Policy

BP Diary (the "App") is a manual blood pressure logging app for iOS, built by Mango Lab ("we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what happens to the information you enter into the App.

The short version: we do not collect your health data. It stays on your device and in your personal iCloud.

We operate no servers and no database. Your readings never reach us, and we have no technical means to look at them. The sections below describe exactly what the App stores, where it is kept, and the one narrow case where a third party is involved.

If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use the App.

What the App Stores

Everything in the App is entered by you, by hand. The App stores the following on your behalf:

★ Blood pressure readings: systolic and diastolic values, pulse, and the date and time of the reading.

★ Medications: medication names, doses, and the schedules you set for them.

★ Dose records: which scheduled doses you have checked off, and when.

★ App preferences, such as your display settings and whether BP Diary Pro is unlocked.

The App does not ask for your name, email address, phone number, date of birth, or any other identifier that could be used to contact or identify you. There is no user profile, because there are no user accounts.

The App does not read from or write to Apple Health, and it does not measure anything by itself. Every value in the App is a value you typed in.

Where Your Data Is Stored

Your data lives in exactly two places, and neither of them belongs to us:

a) On your device. The App keeps a local database on your iPhone. This is the primary copy of your readings.

b) In your own private iCloud. If you are signed in to iCloud, the App mirrors that database into your personal iCloud account through Apple CloudKit, in what Apple calls the private database. It is tied to your Apple Account and governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

We run no servers, and your health data is never transmitted to us. We cannot read, access, export, or recover it. Apple does not grant developers access to a user's private CloudKit database, so this is not a promise we could break even if we wanted to. It also means we cannot restore your data for you if it is lost.

You can stop iCloud sync at any time in iOS Settings, under your Apple Account, then iCloud. If you do, the App keeps working and your data stays on your device only.

PDF Report Export

BP Diary Pro can generate a PDF report of your readings to bring to a doctor's appointment. When you create a report, the App offers an optional name field so the printed page can identify whose readings it shows.

That name is used only to fill in the generated PDF file. It is not stored by the App, not saved to your readings, and not sent anywhere. The field is optional and you can leave it blank.

The finished PDF is handed to the standard iOS share sheet. Where it goes next, to Files, Mail, a printer, or another app, is entirely your choice, and is then governed by whichever service you picked. We receive no copy of it.

What We Do Not Do

To be explicit about the things the App deliberately does not do:

a) No accounts, no signup, no login, and no passwords.

b) No servers and no database operated by us.

c) No analytics SDKs, and no usage or crash reporting.

d) No advertising, and no advertising identifier.

e) No tracking of you across other companies' apps or websites.

f) No selling, renting, or sharing of your information, because we do not hold any.

No blood pressure reading, pulse value, medication name, or dose record is ever transmitted to us or to any third party. The only exception is Apple CloudKit, which stores that data in your own iCloud account on your behalf, where it remains inaccessible to us.

Purchases

BP Diary is free to use for up to 10 blood pressure readings, along with the core features of the App. BP Diary Pro is a one-time purchase that unlocks unlimited readings and doctor-ready PDF report export. It is not a subscription.

Payment is processed entirely by the Apple App Store. We never see or handle your card details, billing address, or any other payment information.

We use the RevenueCat SDK to validate the purchase receipt and to check whether your device is entitled to Pro features. RevenueCat acts as a processor on our behalf and receives:

a) an anonymous, app-generated identifier that is not linked to you personally

b) purchase and transaction receipt data from Apple

RevenueCat receives no name, no email address, and no health data of any kind. Its handling of the above is described in RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.

This is the only third-party SDK in the App, and purchase validation is the only thing it is used for.

Notifications

BP Diary can remind you to take a reading or to take a scheduled dose. All of these are local notifications, scheduled by the App on your device and delivered by iOS.

Nothing is sent from a server, because there is no server. We do not know what reminders you have set, and we cannot send you a push message. Notifications can be turned off at any time in the App or in iOS Settings.

Deleting Your Data

★ Individual entries: you can delete any reading, medication, or dose record directly in the App at any time.

★ Local data: deleting the App from your iPhone removes its local database and everything in it.

★ iCloud data: deleting the App does not by itself remove data already synced to iCloud. You manage that in iOS Settings, under your Apple Account, then iCloud, where you can remove BP Diary's iCloud storage. Because that database is private to your Apple Account, we cannot delete it for you. Removing the App together with its iCloud data erases everything.

★ Our systems: we hold no data of yours, so there is nothing on our side to delete and no deletion request is necessary.

★ Purchase records: the anonymous purchase record held by RevenueCat is the one exception. Email us and we will submit a deletion request on your behalf. Note that doing so may prevent you from restoring your purchase, and that Apple separately keeps its own record of the transaction.

Children's Privacy

BP Diary is intended for adults managing their blood pressure. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Since the App requires no account and collects no identifying information, we have no means of determining a user's age.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
